kingdom,Gospel,The Church of Almighty God,prayer,Christian

And the disciples came, and said to him, Why speak you to them in parables? He answered and said to them, Because it is given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. For whoever has, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whoever has not, from him shall be taken away even that he has. Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.

– Matthew 13:10-13

  Thoughts on Toaday’s Verse…

This verse tells us the reason why Jesus spoke to people in parables. When the Lord Jesus preached and did His work, many people listened to His preaching, but actually, most of them didn’t truly follow Him or His way. For example, the purpose of the Pharisees’ hearing preaching was not to seek the truth, but to find fault with Jesus and frame Him; Some people chose to follow Jesus because Jesus had performed many signs and wonders, given people grace and blessings, healed the sick and cast out demons, and their aim was not to carry out His way or show consideration for His will. Only a small number of people—such as Peter, John, Jacob—could truly follow Jesus because they loved the truth and saw that His work had authority and power, and could bring the path of practice to them. Hence, Jesus spread the gospel of the kingdom of heaven to them in parables in order to gain those who truly believed in Him. Those who loved the truth would actively follow the footsteps of the Lord and gain the enlightenment and guidance of the Holy Spirit; while those who didn’t love the truth but only begged for grace and blessings wouldn’t focus on listening to God’s words, so they couldn’t understand the truth. Thus, true believers had been separated out. So the Lord Jesus said, “Because it is given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. For whoever has, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whoever has not, from him shall be taken away even that he has.
